Thanksgiving 2008

Nikki and Lisa a couple of years ago. (Because I have no pictures of either of them on my blog.)

Grandpa Walker and Mandi. Sorry Mandi this is the only one I took.

Matt and Ginger the holiday planners and executors.

Cedric and Marci

Lisa and Dallas

Brent and Rosalyn

Carson, Brie, Steve, and Landon on their way back home to Phoenix.

Thanksgiving was great. I'm sorry not all the pictures turned out so well. I'm new at this. I'm having trouble with the transferring of pictures. We ate in Ginger's classroom at Logan High. It is the perfect place for everyone to be in one room. The food was fabulous of course. The kids played a few games and unfortunately everyone took off and we didn't stay and visit like we usually do.

We missed having Nate and Crystal, Brad and Nikki with us for Thanksgiving, but we know they had a good time in Texas and Phoenix. It was lovely having a few days off work and to relax and not have anything pressing to do. We did a little Christmas shopping. Dave even got up at 5:30 to hit a few sales. The lines at Kohl's were daunting and he made it through Lowe's intact. The girls did their early morning thing and I think the big purchase of the morning for them was socks. I think I will wait until next week when things calm down a little.

The Future

I changed my background for Christmas, but now you can't read the words. Oh well, live and learn. Speaking of learning, I've had a few things brought to my attention this week. First the newspaper is running a lot of articles about the banks failing, people losing their jobs, people who have had thier jobs cut to half time to help the company from failing. I've thought a lot about it and I am beginning to worry. They interviewed 8 people and asked them what were they cutting back on so they could continue to pay their bills. Most mentioned eating out, going to movies, driving less, and shopping less. They realized that some of these habits were undermining their financial security. One girl is now working 3 jobs just to keep up with her spending habits. So when does she have time to spend?

Our stake conference this weekend was about anchoring our testimony to Christ. The real theme seemed to be anchor to Christ because we are in for a very rough ride. I just thought that I would pass this message on to all those I love because I know that we have been warned and told to get out of debt. I know that it is hard and I hope we all can do it now! Is it November or December?

My comment for the week is: Why all the Christmas advertising and sales before Halloween? I like my holidays one at a time.

I spent my blog time this morning trying to put everyone's address on to my blog so that I could easily find everyone. I had them all in and went out of the screen I was in and realized too late that you have to hit the save button. So I started over and I think I left a few out. I really wanted to do it today, because next week I will forget how I got them in there in the first place.
This picture was taken on the Oregon coast. Dave and I traveled there this summer and had a great time.

We have had another busy week and next week will probably be busier. Dave spends a lot of time at the church and I don't know what I'm doing but I never have time to read anymore. I have been quilting lately and trying to finish up old projects. I'll post a few quilts if I can figure out how to get the picture off my camera and onto the computer. That will be next week's lesson. I have now spent about 30 minutes trying to get to a picture on Lisa's folder and copy and paste it in here and I now give up. That's all for this week.

Marci and Hayden, is that you Lisa in the back?

Cole, Tayla, and Hayden Christmas 2007.

My three favorite things about Christmas, Cole, Tayla and Hayden.

Starting Over

Okay, now what have I done. I tried to make it new and improved and I deleted my old blog and now I'm just as lost. Here are Brad and Hayden fishing.
Nikki, how come I can't find any other picture of you?

Dave in Bend, Oregon June, 2008. What a beautiful park.

Marci with her cute braids, her hair is short now and oh so cute. I'll have to find a new picture of her new hair cut.

Cole and Hayden playing in the laundry basket.
Lisa gave me a few tips, only do one post per day. (I was starting a new post with every picture)
Actually allow other people to see it. And most important, where was a picture of her. (And why did I choose this ugly one) My first attempt at blogging I was very proud of, but I learned that only seven pictures fit on a page. So I will try to be fair and get everyone on my blog at some point in time. Remember I'm old and I'm just starting.

Nate, Crystal, Tayla, and Noah on Noah's blessing day.

What I also don't understand is how I started my pictures and writing in one order and they ended up all mixed up. I guess I should just be grateful that they are even on the page. I'll try again next week. Send me some pictures so I can update this blog. Love, Mom
