October all ready?

Well as you can see by the picture on our blog, a lot of time has gone by. Noah is now 1 year old and walking. Dave and I are busy this fall enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors. We did our annual 3rd dam to 2nd dam hike and it was pretty cold, but not too many colored leaves.

I guess I haven't been taking many pictures lately, because I'm stealing Marci's pictures to blog. Thanks Marci (even though I didn't ask permission) Here are a few summer highlights.

I don't know why I can't place everything where I want to on a blog page. After I get done, the pictures and captions are all over the place. What am I doing wrong?

I am really enjoying our beautiful Cache Valley summer weather. In order to enjoy it more fully Dave and I put in a patio and some furniture. I hope we aren't done yet, because I would love to plant more trees and plants around the patio, but here are a few pictures of our patio. Now you see why I don't want to go back to school. I just want to sit here every morning and be lazy.

Summer Fun

This is going to be very long because I haven't posted for awhile. My summer was off to a slow start because I went to the dermatologist and had 32 sunspots burned off my face, arm and chest. So I hibernated for two weeks until I no longer looked like a freak. Hayden and Cole came to stay with us for a week and I now remember how come I used to fall into bed in an exhausted state when I had little kids. All you people with little kids, my hat is off to you. I had a blast with the boys and hope that Brad and Nikki will let me tend again for them sometime. We next entertained Nate and Crystal who brought along Tayla and Noah. It is great to get to know the Houston grandkids. There is nothing like being able to put your arms around those sweet kids instead of talking to them on the phone. We got together a few times with everyone and had a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures of the 4th of July. Sorry Lisa, I know this makes you homesick.

July 9 I flew off to Philadelphia to spend some time with Lisa and Dallas and of course the puppies. It was great to have Lisa meet me at the airport and let me stay with them in their apartment. Lisa sat me down and planned out an itenary so that we had something to look forward to every day. We visited a lot of historical sites and had a lot of fun. We went to Gettysburg, Valley Forge, shopping, Longwood gardens, shopping, downtown Philly, and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It seemed like we were always on the go, but in between we sold a few puppies. One of my favorite memories was racing puppies up and down the hall. All too soon it was time to go home. The nice thing was Dave really missed me.

Lisa's Graduation

This is June 2, 2009. We had a hailstorm you wouldn't believe. It shredded all my plants and wrecked havoc in my garden. This little pile of hail was still pretty much in tact the next day when I got home from school. It was pouring out of the down spout so fast that it just piled up like a little snowman. Smithfield has seen an unusual amount of rain and hail this spring (summer?).

Lisa Michelle Petersen Daines has graduated from Weber State with her RN. She passed her board exams and is a full fledged nurse. Congratulations Lisa, we are very proud of you.

Marci was with us to help celebrate.

I would be smiling too, if I was all finished.

I don't know why I can't get my captions to be anywhere near the picture it is supposed to go with. I will try to figure that out. Meanwhile I'm not sure everything is where I want it to be.

Okay, what a slug I am. I haven't written anything on my blog for 3 months. I used to write and read blogs every Sunday after church. We switched times and you would think I have more time, but for some reason I don't ever sit down at the computer on Sunday anymore.
I think another reason is that I don't have any pictures to put on. Well I have pictures I just don't know how to get them off the camera onto my blog.
A lot has happened in the last 3 months. Lisa graduated, Crystal, Dallas, Cole, Nikki, Dave and I have all had a birthday. School is out. Lisa and Dallas moved to Conshohoken, Paige had 4 puppies, I had 32 sunspots burned off my face, we have had torrential rain, we just put up our new pergola (like a gazebo) yesterday and it has rained so hard today I'm worried that we are only going to have it one day before it is ruined. Did I mention school is out?
I have blisters all over my face and I'm not leaving the house for two weeks, because I don't want to scare anyone. So I should have time to figure out the photo download thing and put a few interesting pictures on the blog.

February

I was very surprised to see that I have not blogged for a month. Everyone seems to have switched to facebook and I'm not sure I want to get on that bandwagon. I also don't think I have any pictures that are new to put on my blog. But just to catch up; Dave bought a new truck yesterday, I finished two quilts, and I have had a huge setback in my diet plans. (I gained back 5 pounds, I wish Jillian was here to kick my butt.)

I haven't taken the opportunitiy to go cross country skiing lately. We've had a bunch of new snow, but I was busy doing other things. I am excited for this week. Dad and I are going to go work at the DI on Wednesday. I am also out of my comfort zone, I am trying to make BBQ ribs tonight. Dave said they smell like BBQ, so I guess I am half-way there.

We were lucky to have Nate and Crystal come home for Dave's moms funeral. We were sad that they had to come for a funeral, but so happy to see them. We tried to take advantage of their being here and get together every now and then. They stayed a little more than a week and we were sad to see them go. This first picture is of the three cousins right before they pulled out. They were have a poptart on the counter to keep them out busy while the car was being packed. Dave and Noah are getting some alone time.
